Hi, wow, you sure have a lot of people on your list! I feel intimidated to even ask to be on your friend's list for that reason! My name's Caroline & I'm also a creative writing major, at the University of Victoria. I found your journal through a comment you made in mylastsigh's journal. I'd be really interested in reading your writing, and sharing my with you as well. Do you prefer to write poetry, or fiction? Both? I tend to vacillate between the two. My journal's friends only as well, but I'll leave it open for you for now so as you may have a look at it and see if you'd be up to adding me or not. If not, then just let me know, & I'll knick you gently off my list. :)

& thank god we're not just pretty faces. Thank god.

xxo

Hi! I created a community of people who have read The Purpose Driven Life, and I'm hoping you could join, since you listed the book as one of your interests.

I hope to hear from you, especially your insights on the book and what God has revealed and has done in your life.

Thanks so much! God Bless!! Continue to seek the Lord!!!

Hi. I found you in Opal's LJ, and you and I have a lot of friends in common. I'm going to add you to my list if you don't mind. (Virtually every one of my posts is friends only.)

Hi Welfy,

Remember me? I'm Shane. Sorry to hear about your eyebrow piercing. :( Ouch. I hope it heals up fast for you.

I like that picture you have in this post. What is that small building you are in? Is it like a fort or shed? It looks like a cool little place there. When I was a kid I used to build forts out of stockade fences with the neighborhood kids, that's what that building reminded me of. :)

I had "friended" you under an extra personna I had created for one reason and/or another, but now I find that you are so real and interesting I'd rather be friends under my actual LJ self (which is this one — Fredcritter). So I dropped you from that one and have added you to the real me. Is this okay? Might you reciprocate? (Email me if you'd like a less veiled explanation….)

Yes, I have reciprocated. Is your real name Fred then? I love that name; my dad's name was Fred.

And thanks for the text message! That was sweet of you.

Wow, you look a lot like one of my dad's former hospice nurses. Her name was Ann and she came every day to bathe Dad. She had this great sense of humor and I thought she was pretty. :^)

I'll bet I don't look like Ann in this pic! ;)

Yes, my real name is Fred. Just Fred. Not "Frederick" or "Freiderich" or "Alfred" or "George" or any of those — just plain "Fred." Glad you like the name. I've grown rather attached to it. My mother's father was named Fred (although he was a Frederick), which is how I came by it.

& you're welcome for the text message. I like to think I'm sweet, although my follow-through isn't always the best.

TTFN!

Oh, I don't know about that. I think I recall her making faces like that when Ann had to clean out his pee bag. Ewwwwww. Oh how I love Lysol. :^)

Hi Shane! Sorry it took so long for me to reply. The eyebrow's been healing miraculously. Maybe because I don't touch it or pick at it. I'm sure my fingers are festering with bacteria.

The little building is a cabin that my boyfriend Chad's dad built for him in the woods behind his house. It's really tiny and I can only sit in it. Above the door is carved "Chad's Place." It's so cute! I had this picture taken for a poetry book I wrote.

It seems strange to leave a note asking to be friends with someone, but here goes. You left a beautiful entry in the community, and right now I'm just looking for people who know where I'm coming from. No one I know knows what I know.
From: [identity profile] welfy.livejournal.com
Hi there! Yeah, I guess it is strange, but it lets me know that people actually want to add me and read, and that I may want to read them back...as opposed to people who are serial adders and couldn't care less about what anyone on their list has to say.

I've actually made a new journal--not an alternate one, but a journal where I post everything about my dad. They're all entries from this journal and also from old papers I wrote for college. In a couple weeks I'm going to unveil it to people on my friends list when I have it ready. I've found all the posts I've written about him and thought it would be a good idea to compile them all.

Welcome. :^) It's always comforting to find people going through similar ordeals.

i would like to be added and i am adding you
