Maybe going to the people in charge and fessing up so that they hear it from you first and can put it in perspective (it was a joke for your Mom; who doesn't like Moms?) will soften the impact?

My mom actually BROUGHT IT to the church WE go to, and they thought it was a riot. But Presbyterians seem to have a good sense of humor about things, at least in this area!

Yeah...which would be a lie anyway, because I post everyone's announcements no matter what it is. This entire thing was extremely exagerrated. I always answer the phone, too!

BTW I once did something eerily similar: I wrote "The Gospel According to Rezek" in honor of our favorite drunk bowling high school teacher. It quickly achieved notoriety... assisted in no doubt by my leaving a copy in another teacher's class! (Fortunately he had a great sense of humor about it, and from the sly look Mr. Rezek gave me the next day, so did he). Ahhh, those were the days!

Haha! Family of giants made me laugh out loud. If this gets you fired at least you'll have a great story in a few years. I truly don't think it will. It isn't as if you've poked fun at anyone at the church personally or anything... just yourself.

The thing is, this isn't poking fun at this particular church. ALL churches have their members pay tithes.

I think it's totally cute, but... well, if anyone should ask, tell them the truth: You had a little free time on your hands and was playing around with format and stuff like that. You didn't put it up as a way to hurt anyone in the church and if they really don't like it, tell them you won't do it again.

She's not my boss. But her husband is the head trustee, and is the person in charge of me. So this kind of worries me.
I could see if I had left porn or something blatantly offensive out, but I haven't! It was something for my mom and myself, not her! AND I used a bulletin that had a painting with the year 2000 on it, so it was a bulletin that would have had to get tossed anyway.
The only thing I could REALLY be criticized for would be that I am being silly instead of working. But for the most part, I am not THAT silly, especially if other people are around. I do ALL my work and even more than I really have to. I've had weekends I had to sacrifice because of the church's mistakes and I had to help fix them even if I had nothing to do with it. I'm just so annoyed right now.
