I remember the winters. I am strange, I enjoyed them. That is one reason why Frost's poem was always remembered.
"Stopping by woods on a snowy evening"
That poem gives the nice imagery of just how peaceful a small town's snow actually is.
the woods are lovely, dark and deep...
